Schedule- Monday- Friday 8am 5pm central time

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement patient care with above-average clinical judgment based on nursing theory.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, including monitoring for chemotherapy toxicities, medication side effects, and overall patient well-being.
• Review lab values and evaluate treatment toxicity prior to medication administration.
• Verify patient eligibility for prescribed infusion therapy and obtain/witness informed consent when required.
• Provide verbal and written education to patients regarding disease process, medications, and symptom management.
• Accurately administer prescribed medications via IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and oral routes following safe practice guidelines.
• Demonstrate proficiency in starting peripheral IVs and accessing central venous access devices (CVAD).
• Pre-plan and adjust workflow to meet departmental needs; organize equipment, supplies, and medications per physician orders.
• Document medical records accurately, concisely, and in a timely manner using EMR.
• Conduct in-person and telephone assessments; individualize care plans utilizing available resources.
• Maintain competency through ongoing professional development and continuing education.
• Prioritize patient needs, advocate for patients, and respond promptly to emergencies within the Cancer Center.
• Foster positive relationships with patients, peers, and interdisciplinary team members; uphold patient rights and informed consent policies.
• Complete clinical logs and ensure accurate charge documentation.
• Communicate critical information to Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and/or Director.
