Position Description

Title: Pediatric Emergency Department Manager 

Location: Austin, TX 

Salary/Pay Rate:  Up to $150,000 per year (Relocation Offered) 

Schedule: Day Shift (No Weekends), Full-time, Direct Hire

Our client is a reputable healthcare provider in Austin, TX, dedicated to providing high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients in need of emergency services. Their 10-bed Pediatric Emergency Department, which includes a dedicated trauma room, sees a daily census of 40-50 patients. They are committed to creating a supportive and healing environment for children and their families and fostering a culture of collaboration, compassion, and clinical excellence. Job Description:

The Pediatric Emergency Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and staff of the department. This includes ensuring adherence to standards of care, managing resources, and promoting a positive patient experience. The Manager will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, implement evidence-based practices, and maintain a culture of accountability and transparency.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric ED experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in an acute care setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse or active Compact license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within 90 days of hire).  

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies.
